Notes:

The word “HikariYume” was written in katakana and it emphasizes the fact that this term was coined by the songwriter himself. It is a combination of the words “hikari” which means “light” and “yume” which means “dream” (as in that thing you have when you sleep and “dreams” as in “ambitions”). This means that one can interpret the word “HikariYume” as “dreams” or “happiness” or even a some sort of heaven or afterworld. Nevertheless, everyone is free to have their own interpretation. (I tried to look for an interview with the composer, but to no avail.)

Meanwhile, “KirariYume” is also written in katakana and is most likely a combination of the words “kirari,” which is a mimetic word that means “to shine/sparkle” and “yume.”

In this interview published on Natalie.mu, Naa-kun explicitly mentioned that the lyrics of HikariYume does NOT have anything to do with StPri and their fans.

This is one of those times when I actually regret understanding Japanese LOL.

The song itself sounds soft, happy, and gentle, not to mention that Naa-kun sounded so sweet while singing the last part but he’s actually saying something creepy (though from another perspective, it can also sound sweet *and sad*).
